Torah Learning Center of Pardes Hanna-Karkur , מרכז לימוד תורה באורוות פרדס חנה

The Torah Learning Center is dedicated to uniting and enriching the "English-friendly" community of Pardes-Hanna Karkur and surrounding neighborhoods.

Our mission is to provide a warm, central space where all community members—whether immigrants old and new, families, English-speaking Israelis—can deepen their Torah study and enrich their lives.

The Center will offer diverse learning opportunities led by local teachers, host meaningful events, and complement existing synagogues. Our goal is to contribute to building a strong, vibrant Jewish life in Pardes-Hanna Karkur and beyond.

Located in the heart of Pardes Hanna-Karkur’s beloved Artist Stables (Urvot HaOmanim), a 200-square-meter barn with soaring ceilings is being transformed into a warm, vibrant, English-speaking Torah hub. This is a place where absolutely everyone will feel at home—total beginners, curious skeptics, and seasoned scholars alike.

A structured yet creative home for authentic Torah growth—the kind of dynamic, serious English-friendly center that simply doesn’t exist yet in Pardes Hanna, one of the country’s fastest-growing and most vibrant communities for young families.

About

The 17th of Tammuz is the start of a three-week mourning period for the destruction of Jerusalem and the two Batei Mikdash. As the Talmud says:
"Whoever mourns Yerushalayim merits to see its rejoicing."

The fast commemorates five tragic events that occurred on this date:

  • Moshe broke the tablets when he saw the Jewish people worshipping the Golden Calf.
  • During the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem, the Jews were forced to cease offering the daily sacrifice due to the lack of sheep.
  • Apostomos burned the holy Torah.
  • An idol was placed in the Holy Temple.
  • The walls of Jerusalem were breached by the Romans, in 69 CE, after a long siege. Three weeks later, after a valiant struggle, the Romans destroyed the second Holy Temple on the 9th of Av. (The Talmud Yerushalmi says that the first Temple era walls were also breached on the 17th of Tammuz.)
    Fast begins: 4:03pm
